STORY OF RANGKO CAVE AND HAJJ DURAJA

In a small, picturesque village in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, lies the inspiring story of Duraja, known as Pak Haji, a man whose dedication and hard work transformed Rangko Village into a thriving tourist destination. Born in Bima, Pak Haji moved to Rangko Village in 1992, where he began his journey as a fisherman, catching fish, octopus, and squid, which he sold in Labuan Bajo and even as far as Banyuwangi, East Java.

 

Pak Haji’s efforts brought electricity to the village in 2018 and provided a water source by digging wells. Rangko Village, home to around 400 Muslim residents, is now a thriving tourist destination, thanks to Pak Hajis
